What is NSFW Tag?
NSFW (Not Safe For Work) is a content warning tag applied to Reddit posts or entire subreddits indicating adult or sensitive content. NSFW-tagged content is hidden from users who have not explicitly enabled adult content in their account preferences and is excluded from Reddit's public browsing, trending, and recommendation feeds entirely. Subreddits that primarily host NSFW content must be marked as NSFW at the community level, which removes them from general discovery entirely. Individual NSFW posts in otherwise SFW subreddits appear blurred until clicked.
Why it matters for Reddit marketing
